This was designed as an incubation centre for new technologies that would support the Smart Cities mission in India. Apart from a cabin for himself, the client wanted an office space that would be entirely flexible to open out and enable interactions between all the people who would occupy that area. Therefore, while a set of workstations occupied half the office portion and a conference table the other half, a partition that could be folded away entirely, separated the two parts. As per the need, it could separate the work areas or be collapsed to join the two to create one large space. The punctured pattern on the screen was the only element that was played up while the rest of the design was kept minimal. The conference table was also composed of smaller parts so that it could be deconstructed if necessary. The colour palette was restrained to shades of white to maximize the spatial and light quality. Full length glass partitions ensured privacy but did not cut down the visual flow.
